About the Author

Naiem A. Sherbiny is the author of numerous publications on the Middle East, energy, and international finance. He holds a BA from Cairo University, Egypt, and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, USA. He has held academic positions at numerous prestigious institutions, including Harvard University and Georgetown University, USA, Oxford University, UK, and the American University in Cairo, Egypt. He served as an economist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Arab Fund, and the World Bank. Now retired, he spends his time writing and consulting.

Omaima M. Hatem is an international entrepreneur. She has served as founder, president, and CEO of a number of private firms and nongovernmental organizations that extended services into 28 countries. She has a BSc, MSc, and MBA from the American University in Cairo, and a PhD from University of Edinburgh, UK, where she currently lectures Entrepreneurship and International Business. She is a fellow of Higher Education Association, UK and she is on the Advisory Board of the Turing Trust, UK and the Breast Cancer Foundation, Egypt.
