The cave remained dark and closed as it had for centuries. Even though many people passed by its entrance, especially on this particular day, the cave did not care. It refused to notice people who had forgotten its existence. It was then that a powerful and life-changing light began to enter its hardened walls. That powerful and loving light was preceded by a humble woman and a gentle and quiet man. They were different from most of the humans the cave had seen pass by its entrance. They did not pass by but instead entered within its cold interior. The cave was suddenly struck by a brilliance from far outside its entrance. Never before had it looked beyond its own walls to the outside world. The brilliance of this magnificent and sudden light, however, drew the cave strongly and pwerfully out of its inner closure. Out, beyond its entrance, beyond the humble man kneeling in ecstasy and prayer, high in the sky, was the most extraordinary star. Its light seemed to pierce both heaven and earth. It glowed, warmed, and loved all who looked upon it. It filled the cave with light, love, and peace.Stone Hearts is a series of Gospel stories as told through the spiritual eyes of inanimate objects. At first I was hesitant to write such stories. However, I am now convinced that walls do indeed talk and caves "whisper their secrets" through their hidden and underground passages.
