Stories From a Small Town Girl is a collection of short stories and Facebook posts from Rebecca Hughes. Stories of growing up in a small town, stories of inspiration and faith, stories of family and friends. Her ability to make others laugh along with her at her 'life on the gray side' and her ability to help others understand her love and commitment to God are obvious in her writings. She shares memories of her life as one of six children growing up in a small town. Her love for God and her family are obvious. As she has reached her 'senior citizen status' she has learned that the best thing any of us can do is learn to laugh at our own human failings and trust that with God, we can face anything.

About the Author

Rebecca Hughes grew up in the 60’s and 70’s as the youngest child in a family of six kids. Her parents were the typical hard working people who taught their children the value of hard work, honesty, faith and love. Married at the age of 17, she had two sons by the time she was 20 years old. She has lived in small town America her whole life, all the while collecting memories from a much simpler life. She has lived through divorce, remarriage and the reality of the empty nest and the joy of grand parenting.
She has a husband (Paul) of twenty-seven years, two married sons, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She feels truly blessed.
Living her “Life on the Gray Side” has given her time to reflect on the importance of family, faith and laughter. She writes with the hope that when you read this, you too will remember a simpler time and be encouraged, and hopefully it will make you smile.
