Overview

Learning the Alef Bet Has Never Been So Easy!
Want to help a child or an adult with little time to spare quickly learn the Hebrew alphabet? These alliterative clues with pictures are sure to speed the process.

What’s inside Storybook Hebrew 1?
All the alef bet except the five final letters are presented in this pictorial introduction to the Hebrew alphabet.

Memory-jogging cartooned Hebrew letters are paired with an alliterative phrase to aid recall of each letter’s shape and sound. For instance, Yud is the smallest and youngest and jumps up in the yard.

Following each cartooned letter you’re asked to name the typeface letter, say its sound and find it in an alphabetical chart of the alef bet.

Storybook Hebrew 1 ends with sound and memory review. Storybook Hebrew 2, 3 and 4 ebooks provide additional incremental learning so that all letters and vowels are repeatedly reviewed in memorable ways.

A bonus for those teaching children to read …
The Storybook Hebrew ebook series can be used to help English speaking children identify sounds in words, key to developing good reading skills. See more discussion on this and the neuroscience about memory skills at the Storybook Hebrew website.

About the Author

I'm Doris, creator of Storybook Hebrew, Picturing English, Picture It! Multiplication, Sunshine Greetings ebooks and products and coauthor of a technical book that easily explains encryption. My mission is simple: I like to create books and products that inspire people to learn basics on their own. I'm co-author of Cryptography Decrypted, a pictorial introduction to computer encryption with historical stories to reinforce the technical concepts. I also self publish books and ebooks at Amazon and Lulu to help children and adults learn literacy basics of language and math (see interview below for more details). When I'm not writing, drawing or working on docrypt.com, a website about learning encryption by doing encryption, I enjoy gardening, lazing by a river trail, doing tai chi and qigong, and learning about how to keep the medical system from making me sick. Write me at dorisbaker9 at gmail dot com. I’d love to hear what you think about my creations. My "photo" here is by folk artist Gloria Meer whose works I use in Sunshine Greetings. I use this as a photo because I’m into privacy and I think this image captures the spirit of me.
