About the Author

Barcelona in 1936, Esther Tusquets directed the Barcelona publishing house Editorial Lumen from the 1960s to 2000. In the late 1970s Ms. Tusquets published a highly acclaimed narrative cycle which caused a sensation arriving on the scene just after the end of the repressive Franco regime. She has published novels, short story collections, autobiographical works and children's books, all to critical acclaim for their innovative style and feminine consciousness.
