About the Author

Simone P. Joyaux, ACFRE Simone P. Joyaux is an internationally recognized leader in the philanthropic profession – as a consultant, volunteer, writer and teacher / presenter. Joyaux provides consulting services in fund development, board and organizational development, and strategic planning to all types and sizes of organizations. Clients include grassroots groups, major institutions, foundations and government agencies. Simone is one of a few hundred professionals worldwide who has achieved advanced certification in fundraising. She is a faculty member for the Masters Program in Philanthropy and Fund Development at St. Mary’s University, Minnesota. Joyaux regularly serves as a board member of various organizations. During her tenure as Chair of CFRE International, the baseline certification program for fundraisers worldwide, the program achieved its independence and established itself internationally. In 2000, Joyaux founded the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island, part of the global movement to level the playing field for women and girls.
