Overview

Plucking tracks from throughout Randy Travis' decade-long tenure at Warner Brothers, Super Hits, Vol. 1 is an entertaining but, naturally, incomplete budget-priced sampler containing ten of Travis' biggest hits. While it contains material from albums not covered on the two volumes of Greatest Hits, as well as a couple tracks from the old days that didn't make those collections either, it's a little too scattershot to be satisfying as a hits compilation. Still, what's here makes for a good listen, and budget-minded Travis fans may find it worth their while to pick this up; most, however, are advised to stick with the two Greatest Hits volumes. ~ Steve Huey
