Surrender to Ryan
Surrender to Ryan Overview
Destiny Jones has just relocated from Brooklyn, New York, to Rosewater, Virginia. A small yet bustling city, it's located not too far from the scenic mountain town of Whisper Creek.
After splitting up with her son's father, who she still has feelings for, the last thing on Destiny's mind is a relationship.
A fling maybe, but a relationship? Never.
But things may change when she meets the handsome war hero, Ryan Colby, during a long-overdue night out with her girlfriend. Not only is Ryan handsome and oozing with sex appeal, he's modest, kind, and a perfect gentleman.
_______________
But Ryan Colby is on a mission to heal his broken heart. To get his head together, he starts venturing outside of Whisper Creek, away from his business, to take up an old hobby -- and to find a woman for his bed.
A hot-blooded, virile man, he knows he needs the softness of a woman's body to quell the dizzying ache of his increasingly throbbing manhood.
The woman he ultimately meets not only matches him in skill in his favorite past-time, she also matches him in the carnal need for unbridled passion.
But there's more to the sultry beauty than sex appeal; there's something about Destiny Jones that leaves Ryan wanting more from her than she may be willing to give.
_______________
As passionate sparks fly and emotions spiral out of control, two souls on a mission to ease their sexual desires and to forget their old loves, unexpectedly connect.
Will Destiny and Ryan's emotional realities -- and pride -- leave them trapped as simply friends with benefits? Or will they find themselves clinging to the hope of their own "happily ever after?"

Chapter 1
"What are you going to do with yourself for a whole week without your boy?" Destiny Jones asked herself out loud.
She had just said a silent prayer that her seven-year-old son was okay on the plane back to New York. As she pulled her 1987 Suzuki Sidekick up to her modest apartment building, she realized it had been so long since she'd had a moment to concentrate on herself, that she didn't have an answer to that question.
Her cell phone blared the ringtone "To the Left" as she slid the SUV into its designated parking spot under the East Rosewater Gardens Apartment complex. She glanced over to see her friend Porsha's number flashing on the LCD.
Destiny had known Porsha Montgomery since their Fordham University days in New York City, almost thirteen years ago. College roommates, the women had long ago developed a relationship that had become more like sisters than friends. Porsha was the one who had pushed her to move from Brooklyn long after she broke up with Vincent, her son's father. She had also helped her land the legal secretary position at the law firm in Rosewater through the staffing agency she owned, and she helped her find an apartment in her new city.
Destiny grabbed the cell phone from her cup holder and got out of her vehicle. She loved the weather in the area. When she'd left New York over two months ago, it had been cold, but it was unseasonably warm in mid-April in Rosewater. The temperature was a welcomed 71 degrees, which felt like summer to her after a brutal Northeast winter.
"Hey Porsha," Destiny said into the phone. "I knew I'd be hearing from you."
"Hey lady, and I bet you know why I'm calling, too."
"I can just about imagine," Destiny sighed, smiling.
"What are you up to tonight with little man gone up to see his daddy? You are free as a bird, so what you going to do?" Porsha said in a rhythm that indicated she could have fun all by herself. That was one of the things Destiny loved most about her friend. She seemed so carefree, like she didn't need anything, anybody, but herself to "live the hell out of life!" as she always said -- least of all a full-time man. Porsha liked to play with men, never taking them too seriously.
Destiny was just the opposite. She believed God didn't put people on this earth to live alone. No matter what she said, deep down, she missed being in a relationship; she missed coming home to someone in the evenings; she missed hearing a man's voice on the other end of the phone, calling just to hear her voice; and, she missed crawling into bed with her significant other ...
But Destiny did not miss the drama that came with being with the wrong man. She'd all too soon learned that a piece of man ...
