About the Author

Jim Gunther is a graduate of the Cordon Bleu in San Francisco, 1994. Growing up in a large family with seventeen children, he learned a love of baking from his mother who kept her children fed with homemade treats, some of which have been adapted for this cook-let. Most recently, Jim became the chef, co-owner, and innkeeper of The Inn On First in Napa, California. Opened in May 2007, Jim and his husband, Jamie Cherry, have worked hard to create a contemporary look and feel to the inn while maintaining the historical structure that was built in 1905. From that first bite of a pastry, to the afternoon snack of the chocolate chunk cookie, to that late-night bite of a chocolate truffle, Jim and Jamie want to be sure that each and every guest experiences pleasure from start to finish.
