About the Author

Just six months after his wedding, patent attorney Roger Maxwell had a devastating stroke. After his health insurance ran out, he was left with severely compromised vision, speech, balance, was unable to swallow, and had no chance of walking without a cane. He was told he could do nothing but cross his fingers. He and his wife Kathy refused to accept this "life sentence" and Roger researched and devised a program for himself that brought him to full recovery from all his remaining infirmities. Today he is an avid marathon runner and works full-time as a patent attorney. Roger collaborated with writer Daveda Lamont and stroke caregiver Kathy Maxwell to develop this easy-to-follow, scientifically based stroke recovery program and help more stroke survivors recover.
