Set in Portland, Oregon during George W. Bush's Reign of Error, Tamanous Cooley revolves around environmental activist Amanda Laszlow. She is part of the Northwest Conservancy, an organization fighting a huge legal battle against NOG Biotics, a corporation attempting to seize a sensitive wetland to use as a dumping site. NOG's corporate lawyer is Eldon Littlejohn, nominally a member of the Yakama Indian Nation - and Amanda's ex-lover.

About the Author

K.J. McElrath started writing professionally for search engine optimization firms in 2006, and thus has written about everything from insurance and litigation to diet pills and lingerie. Tamanous Cooley is his first work of contemporary fiction. Mr. McElrath is also a composer of numerous works for orchestra and winds as well as incidental music for theater and the score for a stage musical and film in pre-production, Dex Dixon by Pacific Northwest playwright and screenwriter Steve Coker.
