This book represents what it means to be multicultural and encourages children to celebrate that diversity. This book also comes with family-friendly activities for children to explore their ancestries, traditions, and cultures.

About the Author

Christelene Horton was born in the British Caribbean Islands, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and moved to the US to study, earning a PhD in Epidemiology and a master’s degree in Public Health. When she was young, she dreamt of becoming an artist but was told to pursue a more stable paying career, thus she kept art in the background; writing poetry in her spare time. Colorful ME! is the first book project Christelene embarked on to realize her dream of being an artist. Christelene now lives with her husband and four young children in North Carolina.

Melisa Thomas is an Engineer in Information Technology sector who grew up in Indonesia and Singapore before moving to the United States for her university education. Be it at work or at home, Melisa enjoys streamlining new complex workflows into optimized and simplified processes. Melisa is transitioning to be a Product Manager at a technology start-up in DC. Melisa lives with her husband and two young children nearby Washington, DC.

Allison Verjinski is an illustrative designer with a special interest in creating learning materials for young people’s growth and development and telling small businesses’ stories through colorful marketing design. She has a fascination with making appealing imagery through shape and texture. She currently lives in Richmond, Virginia where she enjoys attempting culinary efforts and petting all of the neighborhood kitties that come by to say ‘hello’.
