The six steps they prescribe are: "Task Definition," "Information Seeking Strategies," "Location & Access," "Use of Information," "Synthesis," and "Evaluation." However, Eisenberg and Berkowitz do not advocate following the steps in a linear fashion, but applying them as each situation demands.
