About the Author

RAYMOND P. W. SCOTT is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Birbeck College, University of London, United Kingdom. With more than 45 years of industrial and academic experience in chemistry, Dr. Scott is the author of over 180 professional papers and a number of books in the field of separation science, the most recent being Liquid Chromatography for the Analyst (Marcel Dekker, Inc.). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Institute of Chemists, and the Chromatography Society. Honored with numerous awards in chromatography and instrumentation, Dr. Scott received the B.Sc. degree (1946) and the D.Sc. degree (1958) in chemistry from the University of London, United Kingdom.
