This history essay debunks the arguments which have been used since the 15th century to support the existence of a Western civilization. The latter was not only attached to an economic domination built upon slavery and genocide, hence an organized theft of the global southern resources, but also through the principle of whiteness and Christianity. What is a European, then? Often, the supporters of the Western civilization theory claim ancient Greek and the Mediterranean Basin as the foundations of such whiteness. In reality, and especially in Antiquity, groups such as the Canaanites proved that one could be black African in essence and also European. The Mediterranean Basin was black African, Afro-Semitic and white European as individuals did not refer to one another through color but lineages. As a consequence, Europeans could be black and white or mixed. Therefore, the Mediterranean Basin left a tremendous amount of racial and cultural diversity which illustrate the fallacy of the Western civilization.
So, if southern Europeans descend from black Africans and became white through admixture over the centuries, there should be no issue to the white elite to recognise mixed Black individuals as being white as well.
