Overview

Donald De Angelo has been a US History and American Government teacher and college adjunct professor for over 25 years. During this time, repeated election cycles has turned out to produce administrations incapable of accomplishing agendas that either unite the nation and/or prove the virtue of big government. Democrats have come to detest Republicans, and the feeling is mutual. Both resent the fact that over 30% of voters are not registered with either party.
US History has examples of when American voters have come out in large numbers to vote for third parties in the hope of reforming the system, or at least drawing attention to an issue they felt was critical to the nation's survival. The Progressive agenda of the early 20th century was, in fact, started by the Populist Party in the late nineteenth century. Abolishing slavery was being ignored by both parties until the Liberty and Free Soil parties emerged and demonstrated large electoral support.
Donald De Angelo suggests that it is time to show the main parties that "We the People" are willing to abandon them if they continue to ignore our need to see responsible behavior from our political leaders. The issues facing the nation are too grave to simply hope that some unknown person will magically emerge to save us from our own malaise.
