Editor Whitehorn (Modern Genocide: The Definitive Resource and Document Collection) created this work with the hope that the questions students and other interested parties had regarding the Armenian genocide in 1915, which resulted in an estimated 1.5 million deaths, would be answered. In this he has succeeded. Primary source documents offer facts from perpetrators, victims, and bystanders, and survivor statements provide eyewitness accounts of the horrors of this tragic event. Although entries are short, most averaging two or three pages in length, the information provides plenty of ideas for discussion on a variety of facets of the genocide.
