The Barn
The sky had quickly darkened, at first the rain came in droplets, then, almost immediately it became a torrential downpour. Lightning flashed dangerously as the wind howled through the trees. I ran into an old abandon barn seeking shelter. The dark threatening clouds outside, the gloomy eeriness there inside my temporary abode gave way to uneasiness that perhaps it was better to have remained hostage to the outside elements.
The air inside seemed thick, hot, almost as electrically charged as that outside. I could my feel scalp tingle as if my hair was standing on its end, had it not been for the relentless lightening, I might have considered returning to the outdoors. As soon as the thought entered my head, there was a loud boom, causing me to jump and move deeper into the barn.......
