Proby's contemporary romance is told from the point of view of both main characters, in alternating chapters, making it a natural for dual narration. Riley and Trevor are portrayed beautifully by Abby Craden and Sebastian York, with Craden doing a bit more of the heavy lifting as Riley's chapters often feature the four female partners in the restaurant they own together. Craden keeps their voices distinct but natural even in group conversations among the five women so that the listener has no trouble discerning who's speaking. Sebastian York is wonderful as Trevor, funny, gruff, and sexy by turns and altogether listenable. This contemporary love story isn't shy about sex scenes, and the f-word is used with abandon, but it all feels organic to the story. L.C.L. © AudioFile 2018, Portland, Maine
