The Ben Trovato (mis)Guide to Golf

An estimated 60 million people around the world play golf regularly. Ben Trovato is not one of them. However, he saw this more of an asset than a liability when it came to writing a book about the sport. Trovato sets out to open the untrained eye to the rules, protocols and traditions of what he believes can and should become a blood sport. The (mis)Guide to Golf is an invaluable tool in helping people to decide whether to start, continue or give up playing altogether.

About the Author

Considered one of South Africa’s foremost satirists, Ben Trovato is the author of a dozen books, including one on golf, a sport he has never played. His trilogy of audacious letters to the rich and powerful remains unique in the annals of South African literature. And, as a columnist, he has disgraced the pages of several major newspapers and magazines. A print journalist and television producer by trade, he has travelled to hundreds of countries, slept with thousands of women and written millions of words. Currently skating on thin ice as a columnist for the Sunday Tribune and Sunday Argus, he can often be found surfing instead of meeting his deadlines. His latest book is Incognito – The Memoirs of Ben Trovato. In it, he comes clean about his real identity and lays bare the meat, bones and gristle of his peculiar life. Trovato lives alone with two regrets and a hangover.
