Werner Keller (1909–1980) was a German civil servant, journalist, and anti-Nazi resistance fighter. In 1955 he published The Bible as History, his best-known book, which correlated the text of the Bible with the results of archaeological diggings in the Middle East. It has been translated into more than twenty languages, and updated in two revised editions. He is also the author of The Etruscans.
