Every day was the same for Mr. Flynn, who wondered if all his adventures were behind him . . .
until he saw a flash of white feathers.

Across the street, the days were boring for Ollie McPhee, who thought nothing interesting ever happened . . .
until his mom said he could go outside.

FLYNN: Well I’ll be balder than an eagle—a snowy owl in my neighborhood after all these years of searching!

OLLIE: FREE!

BOOM!

FLYNN: OH, FLAPPITY FINCH!!

OLLIE: I don’t think you’re supposed to say that.

FLYNN: BAH, OLLIE! You need to watch where you’re going!

OLLIE: But I close my eyes when I run—so I can go faster—and get out my energy.

Is that why you were running?

FLYNN: No. A gentleman does not run, even when in a hurry.

OLLIE: HEY! WHAT ARE THOSE?!

FLYNN: Binoculars.

OLLIE: What are they for?

FLYNN: Seeing things far away, like the rare bird you made me miss.

OLLIE: Can I use them to see the white owl?

FLYNN: WHERE?!  I don’t see anything.

OLLIE: That’s because it flew into the woods.

WAAAAIIIITT!  I wanna go too!

FLYNN: It must be in the treetops farther in.

OLLIE: What’s that in your pocket?

FLYNN: It’s one of my journals where I record my bird observations.

OLLIE: Oh. Because you can’t remember.  What about that bird?

FLYNN: The crow?

OLLIE: Yeah. Why don’t you draw it?

FLYNN: I already did a long time ago. Here. You can draw it while I go look for the owl.

OLLIE: Oh, no. My memory works fine.  I’m going to see that owl I already saw. REMEMBER?

FLYNN: WAIT! I’m coming too!
