About the Author

Doug Barron was a Canadian musician, broadcaster, actor and writer who created music, film and art since the mid-1970s when he arrived in Halifax in a chocolate brown Volkswagen bug with a set of drumsticks and a Casio keyboard. During his lifetime, Doug helped launch rockers’ careers in Toronto and in the east. As a musician he could make most anything happen if he put his mind to it: experimental music, straight-on rock ’n’ roll (with a twist), country twang tunes or off-the-wall experimental masterpieces. Doug was also an actor, filmmaker and CBC radio personality fondly known as Deputy Doug.
