Overview

She never wanted to be a bride. He wants a family to love.

Plagued by her mother's profession as a prostitute, Hailey Jefferson spends most of her life dreaming of being everything her mother was not. But with no means to escape from the town she grew up in, she must become a mail-order bride and accept what she never wanted. A husband.

Orphaned as a young boy, Alex Croft wants a family of his own and marrying Hailey is the answer to his dreams, until she announces theirs will be a trial marriage. He has until Christmas Eve to convince her to stay married. When he learns she's been secretly saving money for a train ticket to Boston, he has to decide whether or not he can let her go. Will Alex's Christmas wish come true or will Hailey break his heart?

About the Author

Heidi Vanlandingham currently lives in Central Oklahoma with her husband and two sons. At a very young age, she discovered a need to travel and a love for books and writing. It didn’t matter what implement found its way into her hand—pencil, pen, or crayon (red and green were her favorites)—she rewrote all her favorite stories by scribbling her (often unintelligible) words over the printed pages of her picture books. Thankfully, her technique has improved, and she currently writes romantic historical western, sassy fantasy, and paranormal stories.
