The Boyhood of Dr. Jose P. Rizal * The Ghost and the Ball of Candle Wax is a historical events of his first formal schooling in Binan, Laguna. As the young Rizal was studying in town, he and his family frequently visit the shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Barrio de la Paz where the river ends the lake begins. Most of the time, he attended mass at this Mission Church established in 1626 by the Franciscans missionaries. The Ghost and the Ball of Candle Wax was a story told by Lelang Toyang, the Barrio Storyteller and an elder .
