The British Army's involvement in the Crimean War of 1854-56 is often remembered only for the ill-advised 'charge of the Light Brigade' during the battle of Sevastopol as memorialized in Tennyson's poem. About the Author

The late Colonel Nicholson served in the Indian Army and was a founding member of the Sealed Knot Society, along with Brigadier P.D. Young. He was a prolific and talented author who worked on a number of Osprey titles.

Michael Roffe is a talented painter of military subjects who has illustrated many books for Osprey over the years. His artistic talents span a variety of historical periods; he has illustrated titles relating to the Boer War, the English Civil War, the Napoleonic Wars and the American War for Independence.
