Overview

The Broken Son is the first installment in a three-part series of short novels. It depicts the life of a pre-teen boy who is emotionally and physically abused while growing up in Detroit, Michigan during the 1980s. The boy is so distraught with his surroundings he believes that his parents are determined to kill him. To make matters worse, the boy frequently hallucinates about an evil clown who appears to him during his troubles, only to add fuel to his parents fire.
The second book in the trilogy, Without a Home, details the boy's teen years in foster care and eventually his time in residential housing for troubled youth. The abuse he once took from his parents is now delivered from the kids he is forced to live with who have severe problems of their own.
Never Again is the third and final story in this emotionally gripping saga. The boy, now a man returning home from war, must once again deal with living under his parents' roof. Only this time around, he wants to do the killing.

About the Author

David Allan Sturman began writing at the age of twelve, but his name first appeared as a byline in newspapers while working as a photojournalist, and not splashed across the covers of booksuntil now.
Sturman served three years in the United States Army Infantry and participated in the Invasion of Panama in 1989. Post-service, Sturman graduated from The Ohio State University School of Journalism in 1997. His first job after college was taking on the role of photo editor for a small-town newspaper in northern Ohio. Over the course of three years he earned numerous awards for his work, which was often showcased nationally.
His exposure to law enforcement while covering the news led to Sturman enrolling in the local police academy. He now works for a mid-sized city law enforcement agency in central Ohio. Sturmans books are taken directly from his life experiences, which include being a physically and emotionally abused child, living as a misplaced teenager in the Cleveland foster care system, becoming a hardened soldier in the U.S Army, and, most recently, working through unrest as a police officer with a small-town law enforcement agency.
All of Sturmans stories walk along the path of truth and are occasionally joined with a bit of fiction, which helps round out his tales. Sturman now lives in central Ohio with his wife and two daughterswaiting to cross paths with his next story.
