The Character of God and the Route to Salvation

Overview

This short essay is a Bible-based examination of the character of God, using this to explain that God has had a plan for our salvation since before the universe was created--a plan that culminated in the death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection three days later.

The essay discusses God as Creator; as the omniscient ruler of creation; as righteous judge; and as our loving and forgiving Father. All points are backed up by appropriate verses from Scripture and are used to illustrate God's plan for offering us eternal salvation.

It's hoped that this essay can be of help to Christians who are witnessing to non-believers.

About the Author

Tim DeForest is a believing Christian who regularly teaches verse-by-verse Bible studies with various small groups in Sarasota, FL. He has also taught through various books of the Bible with Chaplain trainees in South Sudan, having made four short-term trips to that country as of 2010 (with more trips planned for the future).

His secular writings deal with various aspects of pre-digital pop cultures. Books he has written include Storytelling in the Pulps, Comics and Radio: How Technology has Changed Popular Fiction in America and Radio by the Book: Adaptations of Literature and Fiction on the Radio.
