The Chinese Parrot (1926) is the second novel in the Charlie Chan series of mystery novels by Earl Derr Biggers. It is the first in which Chan travels from Hawaii to mainland California, and involves a crime whose exposure is hastened by the death of a parrot.

Earl Derr Biggers was an American novelist and playwright. He is very famous for his novels, especially those featuring the fictional Chinese American detective Charlie Chan, from which popular films were made in the United States and China. The Charlie Chan series includes six best selling detective novels The House Without a Key, The Chinese Parrot, Behind that Curtain, The Black Camel, Charlie Chan Carries On, and Keeper of the Keys.
