The Bichon Frise is a hypoallergenic family dog with a huge personality packed into a small body. These dogs have a sense of humor, love to joke around, but also can't wait to snuggle. While there is little variance in the breeds look, each dog has a unique personality. They are great with all types of people, from infants and small kids, to adults and the elderly. They are regularly described as cheerful and funny and are a great dog for first-time dog owners.

Royalty runs through the Bichon's blood and they know it. They love to be pampered and to be included in everything their owner or family does. These wonderful family dogs tend to have short periods of high energy and then love to relax and snuggle the rest of the time. The energy onsets fast and they enjoy running circles around the house or tables or going for walks outside.

Bichon's are comical in their demeanor and their adorable black eyes make them hard to resist. They are friendly, cute, and love to play and do tricks. Kids and adults alike love them for their size, softness, and fun personality. They will integrate themselves into your family from day one and will find a place deep within your heart.

Whether you already own a Bichon, or plan to soon, The Complete Guide to the Bichon Frise will be an invaluable guide to help you learn everything you need to know to be a successful Bichon parent.

About the Author

Kris Wolfe

Kris Wolfe owns and operates a camp style dog boarding business near Nashville TN, complete with country trails and wagging tails. Kris has a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master’s in counseling and has owned and operated businesses since 2008.

While Kris has never met a dog that she didn’t love, she never knew how much she could love a dog until she got a Bichon. Her Bichon, Ricky Bobby, is the love of her life. Her family and three dogs (including a boxer and a lab mix) also enjoy hosting foster dogs until they can find their perfect family.

Kris is married with two sons, whom she also loves, but doesn’t spoil quite as much. She and her husband are nearing the empty nest stage in life and she is quietly picking out names for her future Bichons to keep the house full of joy. Hopefully Ricky, and her gem of a husband, approve.

Rachel Kass

Rachel has a deep love for all animals. Her Bichon, Buddy, was her first dog and she spent much of her childhood with him by her side. Just over three years ago her now-husband, Dan, proposed when they adopted their current dog, Luna. She also shares her love with her three rescued cats and an axolotl. When not spending time with her pets, Rachel runs a technical writing business and coaches competitive youth volleyball.

Her pets consistently win employee of the month for all of the help they give running her business including helping out on phone calls and sending emails that were still being drafted.

Rachel attended Marquette University and has degrees in both Civil and Environmental engineering.
Rachel also enjoys spending time with her husband Dan, traveling, both locally and internationally, reading all genres of books, creative writing, running, and playing volleyball.
