About the Author

Ipsita Y. Banerjee BScN RN MPH, is a Nurse Educator with a passion for building healthy communities through resilience education. Seeing the common issues faced by the thousands of clients she has worked with around the world, Ipsita wrote "The Concrete Flower Series" to empower future generations with essential skills for success in life and leadership. As the recipient of the Millennium Excellence Award for community involvement and a member of the Golden Key Society for exceptional academic achievement, Ipsita has experienced the powerful impact of community leadership and encourages people of all ages to discover their inner leader. Ipsita graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from Simon Fraser University with a Master of Public Health, and has certificates in clinical education and leadership development. In her free time, she enjoys art, travel, meditation, yoga, nature, and spending time with inspiring people.

Veena Claudia Zbar, BScN RN MSN, is a community health nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of British Columbia. Veena has expertise in community health settings and her research is focused on optimizing health promotion strategies for Canadians through collaborative health service and policy development. She supports promoting holistic health education from an early age and throughout the life course. She is passionate about supporting the health of vulnerable populations by addressing health inequities. Veena is a yogi and a "foodie" who enjoys traveling the world.

Marta Caduhada is currently a student at Wilson School of Design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is set to graduate Spring 2021. She is also a graduate from Visual College of Art and Design in Vancouver. In her free time, she enjoys art, fashion, music, watching movies and spending time with people.
