The Deep Forest

Overview

This short story is about a girl on her path of self discovery, as she reflects back on her life and the things that have happened to her, as she finally finds her place in life, a place she fits into; that girl is basically me, although i wrote parts of her experiences with some different friends in mind, not just myself. This story is also about mythology, different gods and spirits of different cultures, but the main spirit is from Slavic mythology. The place they all meet up is called the Summer Land, or what i think it might be like. Neil Gaiman was my biggest inspiration for this particular story, which started as a poem that just kept going. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it! Thank you!

I've enjoyed writing, mostly poetry, since i was in middle school. its one of my many passions, I've always been very artistic since i was little, involved in one art form or another. I make all my own book covers and illustrations. i write whenever the inspiration comes to me, its very therapeutic and lets me let off steam, and its really the only way i can express my emotions very well. i love to share what i write with others, and i always appreciate feedback and constructive criticism, it helps me write better. Most of my work has some sort of philosophy behind it, a lot of it is a bit dark i think, mystical or spiritual; well its all whats inside me at the time i write it. I love playing with words, I'm always amused with wordplay, not only in English but other languages, as I've studied many, and I'm still studying.
