About the Author

Rusty Cutchin is a musician, recording engineer, producer and journalist. As a journalist he has been technical editor of Guitar One, associate editor of Electronic Musician and editor-in-chief of Home Recording Magazine. As a recording engineer he has worked on records by artists including Mariah Carey, Richie Sambora and Yoko Ono. He has been a consulting editor and contributor to several Flame Tree books.

Cliff Douse is a music author, editor and composer based in the UK. He has written for many of the UK’s foremost music magazines. Cliff recently edited Guitar Techniques magazine and the Guitarist Icons series for Future Publishing in England. He is the author and co-author of several music books, including Scales & Modes for Guitar, The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Music and The Definitive Guitar Handbook.

Hugh Fielder can remember the 1960s even though he was there. He can remember the 1970s and 1980s because he was at Sounds magazine (RIP) and the 1990s because he was editor of Tower Records’ TOP magazine. He has shared a spliff with Bob Marley, a glass of wine with David Gilmour, a pint with Robert Plant, a cup of tea with Keith Richards and a frosty stare with Axl Rose. He has watched Mike Oldfield strip naked in front of him and Bobby Womack fall asleep while he was interviewing him.

Tony Skinner is widely respected as one of the UK's premier music educators. He has written and edited over 50 music-education books, and is the editor of Guitar Tutor magazine and a columnist for Total Guitar magazine.
