Mychal Wynn is the author of 27 books dealing with a broad range of school improvement, student achievement, parenting, and college planning issues. A parent and father of two black males—one a graduate of Amherst College, the other a current student at Morehouse College and recognized of a 2012 Gates Millennium Scholar. Mr. Wynn speaks nationally on education, parenting, and student achievement issues.

As an African American author, who felt the sting of discrimination in my formative years, I solidified my desire to finally tell my story via fiction for children after I read this book and three others. I am so enamored of this one that I took it with me on my first interview for my OWN book. It was never returned which meant I purchased another. I wanted the reviewer to see how skillfully it was written..... No tirades, drum rolls or harsh rhetoric.... just a basic thought of self-esteem.
