The Edge of Nowhere
DON'T OPEN FIRE UNTIL CHRISTMAS

Patrick Foley is a haunted man. After losing his family in a brutal Commanche raid, he drifts from town to town seeking justice and revenge. His mission—to track down the killers—has hardened his heart against all men, good or bad. But his icy resolve begins to melt when he arrives in the small Texas town of Christmas Creek—along with a massive winter storm that traps him there with a good woman, her little boy, and some very bad men . . .

Texans call it a Blue Norther. A fast-moving onslaught of heavy sleet and snow, it brings Foley's search to a halt, but also gives him a chance to warm up with the charming young widow who runs the general store. Her name is Lovejoy Peace. She has a friendly smile, a six-year-old son—and a terrible problem with mean-spirited cowboys stealing supplies from her store. Being a gentleman, Foley raises his gun to defend the widow and stop the thieving snakes. But the battle is far from over . . .

The storm is getting worse. The cowboy gang is snowbound, too—and they're ready for a rematch. If Foley, the widow, and her son can survive the night, it'll be a Christmas miracle . . .

About the Author

William Wallace Johnstone (1938–2004), born in southern Missouri, was a prolific American author, mostly of Western, horror, and survivalist novels. He began writing in 1970 but had his first novel, The Devil’s Kiss, published in 1979. After his death, it was announced that a carefully selected author had been chosen to carry on his legacy. J. A. Johnstone is continuing William W. Johnstone’s series.

J. A. Johnstone learned to write from the master himself, Uncle William W. Johnstone, who began tutoring J. A. at an early age. After-school hours were often spent retyping manuscripts or researching his massive American western history library as well as the more modern wars and conflicts. J. A. worked hard and learned, later going on to become the coauthor of William W. Johnstone's many bestselling westerns and thrillers. J. A. Johnstone lives on a ranch in Tennessee.

Armed with an English degree and a burning love for the scent of libraries and old books, Justin Price has spent the last few decades uncovering the essence of story. This diligence has instilled him with a knack for telling tales.

Justin is a noir-themed storyteller with a penchant for comedy and dark thoughts. His devotion to creeping inside the minds of characters shows in his colorful narration. He lives in sunny Florida with his loving family, but longs for a haunted mansion somewhere dreary and destitute.
