About the Author

Mel King is a graduate of Bates College and Harvard Law School. After spending five years as a professor at a California law school and over forty years as a successful trial attorney, he retired. At the urging of his wife to get out of the house and take up an avocation or hobby, he turned to writing stories. He recalled many unusual incidents in the lives of famous people that he learned while taking history courses in college, as well as interesting news items and articles he had read and researched over the years. Realizing that many high school and college graduates lack the knowledge of history as well as math and science, he decided to write about unusual and/or interesting events and incidents in the lives of famous people that might stimulate readers’ interest in history.
