About the Author

The Freemasons are members of a fraternal order which can trace its roots back to the late sixteenth century. Today it is estimated that there are over six million Freemasons around the world, almost two million of whom live in the United States. Within the Freemason hierarchy, a brother can only attain the position of Master after years of study and successful initiation into the First, Second, and Third degree. A Worshipful Master is the highest ranking member of a Lodge, and is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the Lodge and presiding over all ceremonies and rituals.
