The Fundamentals of Family Planning is designed to provide all levels of staff working in diverse settings with best practices for providing evidence-based, quality contraceptive education and counseling services. The latest edition features new content based on up-to-date research and current sexual and reproductive health national guidelines. It focuses on birth control methods, reproductive anatomy, sexual concerns, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as best practices in patient education, motivational interviewing techniques, and obtaining informed consent.

The Fundamentals of Family Planning is a "self-study" manual that will help new and experienced health care workers and educators:
