Joe and Eddie are intrigued by the bubbling mud pools and boiling geysers that dot the landscape around the lake where they're staying. They meet local geologist Rocky, who tells them about the cataclysmic 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera - the volcano that casts a long shadow over their holiday cottage.
