Overview

'Now' is an indication of time, like 'back then' and 'later'. It's part of a continuum of past, present and future, designed for life on Earth. But since time is essentially an illusion, one cannot be 'in the now'. Freedom can only be found outside space/time reality, one with consciousness. There, déjà vu's are commonplace.

Iris, an eighteen-year-old Dutch girl with Native-American blood, goes into a deep trance when she has to fight for her survival in a snow cave. She leaves her body and meets a shaman, a wolf and Bokke, the little man. Iris learns the language of the Lakota-indians, experiences the hardships of her ancestors and discovers how her great-grandfather, an Oglala Lakota, died in the Second World War. Gradually, it becomes clear that her life is predestined. Her out-of-body experiences show her the way for the rest of her life.

About the Author

Jaap Cové grew up in The Netherlands, and lives and works in Palm Springs, CA (USA). After high school he traveled the world, developing an interest in anthropology, in which he holds a Master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam. The cultures of the world, and the diversity of spiritual insights, are inexhaustible sources of inspiration in his writing.

‘I'm fascinated by the way people express the unknown—that which cannot be known—in many different ways, in symbolism, cults and religions. It keeps surprising me, and also satisfies my own need for answers.’

Another one of Jaap’s passions is music, a recurring theme in his stories. As a drummer and percussionist, he has had many years of experience on the road from Holland to the United States.
