Overview

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.—Plato

The purpose of this book is to dispel the common misconception that "my vote doesn't count." Your vote does count, and even more importantly your opinion and voice count.

Hopefully this project will get you started toward participating in the World's Greatest Political Debate EVER—the USA!

We stay a great country by the sheer will of our ability to constantly influence our government officials. Money certainly plays a part, but nothing is more powerful than an educated and participatory citizen. And nothing holds our elected officials more accountable than our actions as participants!

A January 2013 Rasmussen Poll showed that 53% of likely voters don't believe that EITHER Party represents the American people. 63% of Republicans believe their Party has "lost touch," yet more than 50% of Precinct Committeemen seats are UNFILLED. The Democrats fare a little better in the wake of winning an election, but still have an alarming number of unfilled Precinct Committeemen seats. The Precinct is where the real power to change how our Representatives perform exists.

Fortunately, our Founding Fathers put in place mechanisms for us to challenge authority, create policies that work for our own communities, and even change the overall structure of government if we so choose.

This book is not a Bible or even a handbook that might provide instantaneous solutions to the ongoing problems we face in our Republic. It is however a guideline, and, hopefully, a thought provoking manuscript which enables all of us to join together, work together and move forward regardless of political party.

You have power as an individual who is part of the process to make changes.

If we demand good government, the achieving of that is not about just coming out of the closet, out of the woodshed, rallying in the streets, churches, synagogues, mosques or town halls. It's about rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty from the local level all the way to the top.

Our Republic demands that we participate. Our citizenship is only as valuable as we make it. If we choose to ignore it, then we choose to give it no value, and ultimately lose our liberties.

Choose to participate and read this book!
