The Historical Chronicles of Divination and the Occult
Since the dawn of time, people have been fascinated by the world of the hidden and the obscure, the world of the occult. For centuries, the occult has played no small part in the mind of man. Leading universities once had professors of these subjects on their faculties, and rulers once depended upon the divination by court seers. At the end of the twentieth century, on the eve of the turning of the Millennium, with the advent of the New Age movement, T. Wynne Griffon assembled a collection of ancient and recent occult knowledge into a series of popular books. This has now been combined into this compendium of mystical and metaphysical lore.
With Griffon as our guide, we visit the parallel world of parapsychology, explore the spirit world, examine how dreams shape our destiny, study crystals and crystallomancy and the rites of the scryer, learn of the elements of witchcraft, comprehend the sacred meanings of the runes, understand the intimate nuances of palmistry, grasp the arcane art of phrenology, experience the Ouija Board's messages from beyond, behold the exalted wisdom of the I Ching, learn of uncanny power of tasseography, gain a more detailed knowledge of the power of the Tarot and of the universe of astrology, and much more.

About the Author

T. Wynne Griffon was born in Philadelphia in 1928 and as a child he became fascinated with mysteries of the occult, and with ancient myths and legend. He was apprenticed to David Henry Lynscomb-Harris in London in the late 1940s. He studied for three years at the Institut Astrologique in Brussels, in turn spending another three years there on the faculty. After having spent a number of years as a practicing astrologer in Antwerp and later in Narbonne, he traveled extensively in South and Central America, where he settled in 1961. He was a student of the seminal works on psychic phenomena by the great scholars Manley Palmer Hall and Nicholas DeVore, as well as the writings of Walter B. Gibson and Litzka R. Gibson which were profoundly integral to his own work.
In 1967, he moved to San Francisco, and in 1971 he founded his own school of astrology on an old farm in Mendocino County, California. It was here that he spent over a decade compiling the Catalogue of Archetypes. Griffon continued to be active in the New Age movement through the 1980s and early 1990s, contributing to publications and seminars. He spent his time organizing a lifetime’s research on divination and other forms of prophecy.
Between 1989 and 1991, thanks to a renewed interest in his popular approach to chronicling the history of divination and the occult, he published his The Illustrated Guide to Astrology, The History of the Occult, Historia Okultyzmu, Foretelling the Future, and Star Maps: Your Guide to the Night Sky. Late in 1995, Griffon departed from California on a world pilgrimage, which took him to many diverse and unanticipated places. He was observed standing in the surf north of Gisborne on the North Island of New Zealand to greet the first rays of the rising sun on the first day of the third Millennium
