About the Author

Malia grew up in a modest home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Working to pay her college tuition, Malia graduated from Oklahoma University with a degree in Nursing. In 1982 she graduated in the top 10% of her class from O.U. Law School, where she received an American Jurisprudence Award and participated in the O.U. Law Review and Moot Court team. She was selected by faculty as the "Outstanding Law Student". Malia specialized in litigation at Thompson & Knight in Dallas, where she achieved the position of Senior Litigation Partner. Malia was a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education Programs in Texas. Twelve years after beginning her career, Malia made the difficult decision to "opt out" of her career to devote herself to raising her three children. Sixteen years later, she has two kids in college and a third in high school. She is also still married to her first husband of 26 years. Not until January 2008 had Malia ever been involved politically, when she worked as a precinct captain in her neighborhood for Barack Obama. In the fall of 2008 she was outraged by the nomination of Sarah Palin. Though Malia never aspired to be an author, it was important to create a permanent record of the incompetence of Palin. In 2009, she wrote Rebuttal to the Rogue to ensure that Americans would never forget the history, ignorance and lack of education of a person who might have become the President of the United States. In December 2009, Malia started her blog malialitman.wordpress.com. The blog has grown to over 180,000 views and her posts have been featured on Huffington Post.
