Narrator MacLeod Andrews creates a strong voice for Jake, who stumbles upon a battle between Yeerk and Andalite aliens that changes his life. He and his friends become the last hope for defeating the Yeerks when a dying Andalite alien gives them the power to morph into animals. Subduing the Yeerk threat will be difficult since they are parasitic slugs that crawl into the ears and take over the minds of their victims. Andrews creates unique voices for each of the animorphs that reflect their personalities and youth, enhancing the urgency of the plot and giving new life to this 1996 revival.
