About the Author

Judith Toth Bigham has maintained a love affair with words since she wrote her first short story on a yellow lined writing tablet when she was twelve years old. She was �published� when, at fourteen years of age, she won second place in a patriotic essay contest sponsored by the local newspaper. Since then, she has had a short series about herding with a Shetland Sheepdog published in the SHELTIE PACESETTER magazine, two pieces published in THE STOCKDOG JOURNAL, several mini-essays published in COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE, two essays published in the parish newsletter, and a few uplifting quotes published in GUIDEPOSTS magazine. She participates in a local �Writers Group� in an effort to hone her writing skills.
After serving eleven years in the U. S. Army as a Military Musician, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant for many years be-fore moving with her family (husband, Tom, and son, Robert Eric) to an eighteen-acre farm in Nova, Ohio where she established (with the encouragement, advice, and help of many) Hado-Bar Farm (named in honor of her first Australian Shepherd, Ch. Hado-Bar Jill, CD, STD-d). The farm has grown into a premier stockdog training and events facility, hosting many activities throughout the year, including clinics, licensed herding competitions, and demonstrations, in addition to ongoing herding training. Widowed since August of 2011, she continues to maintain the farm and the business with the help of good friends, good neighbors, and the Good Shepherd.
