Overview

While daydreaming of finally leaving her family's property and fishing in the stream where she spends most of her days, Amina Ivar of Aureolin has a vision that brings her face to face with a menacing, red-eyed shadow who knows her name. As fear courses through her veins, she races home where she discovers the grandparents she thought were long dead, are in fact alive.
Mounting disasters destroy the only home she has ever known, forcing her to cross the valley accompanied by her prince-obsessed sister, Usana, and critical mother, Cilla. Along the way, Amina learns her hidden identity which she is reluctant to accept, meets a strange old woman who claims to know her fate, and is captured by enemy invaders who attempt to assassinate her and her grandfather, the Wicked Lord of Aureolin.
