About the Author

For 30 years, Edmund Evans engraved illustration wood-cuts and printed children’s books. Evans was a perfectionist, using up to a dozen color blocks for a single image. He worked with celebrated illustrators such as Walter Crane, Randolph Caldecott, Jate Genneaway and Richard Doyle.
