Overview

In this poignant drama, a ten year-old boy travels into the Underworld to rescue his mother. The shrunken giant who befriends him, however, may be more trouble than he’s worth, summoning the fearsome wrath of Dragons. Meanwhile, a thousand leagues above, a feisty environmental group and a multinational corporation fight over the ownership of a patch of genetically modified corn… and perhaps the fate of the world.

The Lullaby Tree dives headlong into the debate over genetically modified organisms on our grocery shelves and the dangers they present to the delicate balance of our environment. Internationally acclaimed playwright Ian Walker “is a writer of impressive political and psychological sensibility,” declares the Examiner.com, “unafraid to tackle large themes and with the skills to do it right.” His work in the field of environmental health lends credibility and insight to the powerful voice he lends to the movement. Walker’s award-winning plays include Vigilance, A Beautiful Home for the Incurable, The Gravedigger’s Tango, and numerous others.
