The Bradstreet Family in Michigan descended from two pioneer farmers, brothers who migrated to Michigan in 1876. They had previously staked claims in Nebraska, but after three years in which locust plagues had wiped out their efforts, they moved to southern Michigan and started over. They were both to become successful farmers, and they and their children prospered in Michigan. If you live in Michigan and you have a Bradstreet in your ancestry, chances are pretty good you are part of this family. This is the story of William and George Bradstreet, their descendants and their ancestors. It is a story of faith and pursuing the American dream.

About the Author

Kenneth Bradstreet is the great grandson of pioneer farmer George Bradstreet. A member of the Michigan House of Representatives, in 2003 Ken traveled to Boston with his wife Barbara to attend a legislative conference. While there, thy began to explore the Bradstreet origins in the new world, centering around the town of Topsfield, just north of Boston. There they discovered the old family homestead, Bradstreet Hill, in which six generations of ancestors of the Michigan Bradstreets lived and worked. The result of that first visit was a desire to explore the family genealogy in greater depth. Although a work in progress, this book opens the door to some fascinating discovery about the family's origins.
