About the Author

Walid Mahroum is a multidisciplinary educator, with a diverse background in art, design, music, literature, and education. Lived and worked in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, experiencing different cultures and art forms from a young age.

He holds a degree in Art and Design from Barcelona, Spain, where he pursued his passion for art and design. After completing his studies, he worked with a variety of artists, designers, interior designers, and architects across different continents, gaining valuable experience and exposure to various art forms and styles. Walid's love for music led him to explore oriental music and Andalusian music and culture, which he developed a keen interest in while living in Spain.

He also developed a love for literature and poems, which further expanded his understanding of the world and its many cultures.

In search of new opportunities, he embarked on a new path in education. Walid migrated to Montreal, Canada, where he studied, worked, and taught diverse art programs at various high educational institutions that exposed him to different types of art from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Montreal's diverse ethnicities and cultural backgrounds exposed him to new types of art that fascinated him and gave him new perspectives on the creative process.

Driven by his love for history, Walid extensively studied and read about major historical events and the philosophers and psychologists who shaped our understanding of the world. He remains passionate about exploring the interplay between history, geography, and the arts, which he weaves into his writing.

Mahroum's exposure to diverse cultures and art forms has allowed him to approach art and design from a unique and diverse perspective, infusing his work with a rich mixture of influences. As an artist, his work reflects a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and an exploration of how different art forms can intersect and influence one another.
